Decorating A Girls Room

Decorating a girls room does not need to be a chore. A kid’s room is just like any other room in the house so the same rules apply. There has to be harmony, balance and emphasis. Harmony can be achieved by means of the color palette you choose for the entirety of the room. Balance on the other hand is different from symmetry. Symmetry tends to make a room too stiff and cold which is far from what you may want to have, especially for a child’s room. And lastly, emphasis can be achieved by means of lighting and focal items inside the room. Aside from the color of the walls, the pieces of furniture and the decorative pieces, kids bedding can also have a big impact.

The bed is the main fixture in the bedroom and it just follows that its linen should sum up the overall design. There is no such thing as a perfect kids bedding as it all depends on what theme you have envisioned for the room. For instance, if the walls are muted and neutral, the textiles to be used should be more vivid. On the other hand, if you went for printed walls, like wallpaper or wall art, it would be wiser to stick to tone down the boldness of your prints.

There is an extensive array of kids bedding to choose from. There are cartoon characters and faerie tales that a lot of kids, especially girls, can enjoy. There are more futuristic ones that feature planets and spaceships. This particular print may be perfect for differing shades of gray in a room or a studio painted wall with wide horizontal stripes across all 4 walls. White-washed furniture and those with rustic appeal can stick to floral prints to make them cozy. For a more modern styling, Stripes in bold colors might just do the thing to achieve geometry and streamlined effect. Remember that it is important to have that central theme first before buying linen and decorative pieces.
