Girls Room Decor

So what exactly is room "decor"? Quite simply, decor is short for decorations. Adding décor to a girls bedroom theme is important to provide continuity to the overall theme. Most of us go to great lengths to add "decor" to our main living areas and we don't do much in the bedrooms. If you consider that we spend 1/3 of our lives in the bedroom why not make it as comfortable and pleasant looking as other rooms in our home.

You can spend a good amount of time picking just the right bedding and curtains for a bedroom and you should spend the same amount of time and consideration for the walls and dressing up the dressers and night stands.Your girls bedroom is someplace where she will not only sleep, it is a place she will grow, learn, play and dream. Decorate her room to give her as much visual stimulation as possible. If she is old enough get her involved in the process. Even very young girls should get involved as much as possible in decorating their bedroom. It will give her a sense of pride and ownership in her room.

In addition to the various appliqués you can apply to walls for small girls bedrooms, you can add shelves, posters, mirrors and more for older girls. You can dress up the bed with extra pillows or even a stuffed animal or two. Simple additions like a jewelry box or figurine on the dresser will go a long way toward completing the overall theme of the room.

Even if the room has overhead lighting, a lamp on a night stand or dresser that matches the overall theme will be a very nice addition.Every design for a girls bedroom will have different requirements when adding the final décor for the room. The overall idea is to add just enough to create a flow throughout the room and tie the different focal points in the room together.
